I had to butt in and post this today… please return to being glued to your televisions now!
Posh Spice totally looks like a Sleestak!!!
Got a good chuckle off of this one…. I know a few other bloggers who will find Sleestak references amusing so I figured I would repost this here.
My husband returned home late Friday night absolutely exhaust but happy about the new job and how it went in NJ. I made a huge pot of homemade chili and we all went to bed last night stuffed and warm.. we even saw some snowflakes!! There is more snow flurries on the forecast this week but I’m not sure we’ll get more than a dusting. I will have to go out and get milk and bread earlier than expected because I’m sure the grocery store will be wiped out… everyone here sort of freaks out when there is a mention of snow.
I’m behind in my photos and actually missed a few days while hubby was gone… I’m not stressing about it though because my intention was to take more photos and not to go 365 without missing a day. I loved this picture of Ms. Kitty though and thought I would post it.. It cracks me up the way she sleeps with her paws over her eyes.
BTW… I changed my blog colors and header to more of an old fashioned sort of look for a while though I couldn’t part with my purple skeletons on the sidebar.
This kitteh totally cracked me up.. enjoy!

I’m sorry about the title to the post.. I’m thinking that the cold has finally made me lose what little sanity I have left. Its been cold here in GA (30-40 during the day and 20′s at night) and I can’t seem to keep the house warm until about mid-day. My husband just started a job which we are hoping will be a permanent thing (hooray!) but unfortunately the job involves traveling out of state. We were told of his hiring on Thursday and he had to leave Saturday morning for a week in New Jersey… I sort of felt like he was being “shipped out” and it was very stressful. He will be home on Saturday or Sunday and I miss him horribly and really hate being alone. Here are some more of my “photo a day” pictures from the last few days. If you click on them they will get bigger (I think) – its the WP gallery function.
1/6/09- Yeah, I actually dress like this… especially when I’m home all day. I have on a Cure t-shirt, stripey grey & black socks, maryjanes, black leggings, and a thrifted khaki skirt. If I were actually going out of the house in this I would have worn my black pirate looking Airwalk boots with this and a black cardigan with pins all over it.
1/7/09- This is the “falling leaves” handspun from the other post.. its actually a Targhee and Rambouillet mix, not Falkland. I have no idea why I thought it was Falkland. I ended up spinning this as a single – its about a worsted weight (I didn’t WPI it.. ) and I have about 160 yds. I’ll be knitting this into armwarmers for sale later.
1/8/09- No, I didn’t knit this. This is an insanely thin ( I think its lighter than laceweight) handknit shawl that I received from hubby’s Aunt at Christmas. It came from St. Petersburg and is some sort of a mohair blend. It is mostly khaki green with other colors in it.. I used a photoshop filter to boost the colors so that you could see them in the photo. Even though it is beautiful it is also very itchy.. I am now nearly positive that I’m allergic to mohair. Please excuse my nasty linoleum kitchen floor.. apparently no amount of scrubbing is going to help it.
1/9/09- This is Ms. Kitty on my lap – MOPING. My husband rescued her as a kitten from a truck engine (this was before I was in the picture..) and fed her with an eyedropper — she is almost insanely possessive of him and is MISERABLE when he is gone. She’s been moping since he left Saturday morning.
1/10/09- Look- I actually knit! I’m working on this hooded scarf for sale, its stash yarn from my Willow Cardi. I’ve been getting quite a bit of knitting done since I’ve been staying up WAY past my usual bedtime…
1/11/09- ‘Kung Fu Panda’ from NetFlix. Munchkin and I watched it this weekend and it was so funny we saw it a few more times before sending it back. We’re hoping to get the new Mummy (Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) in tomorrow.
Proof that I actually still spin.. its a Falkland blend called “fall leaves”. I’m spinning this as a single. I loved the roving but I don’t really love this spun up at the moment. I have a second bump of this in Merino (they looked different on the website and were called different colorways so I bought both.. I blame my shitty monitor, not the vendor- who rocks.) which I will probably sell off since it really doesn’t thrill me. I’ll wait to put a sale price on it until I start knitting with this to see what happens… often times I change my mind after seeing how it looks in a pattern.
Finally got my Christmas present I ordered for myself… 4 back issues of Gothic Beauty Magazine. I really enjoy this magazine even though I don’t know most of the new goth bands that are out there (I prefer the older stuff like Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, and Rasputina).. and some of the fashion is a little much for me now that I’m 30. I do love the makeup and hair though.. and the ads for the websites are worth the cover price, especially since I picked these up in a bundle pack which saves me money.
Playing a lot of Sims 1 – I am totally blaming this on Severina and her posts about gothic Sims (which I totally didn’t know were out there.. clearly this path leads directly to madness) and all of the cool free downloadable furnishings out there for dark creepy houses and creepy gothed out characters. I even have a household that includes a cyber-goth girl, a Blue Man, and an Evil Scientist. The goth girl and the Blue Man fell in love and got married, forcing her to become part of the family.. before it was just a totally silly Blue Man/Evil Scientist bachelor pad.
* I’m trying out a 365 photo style spread here at Chez MousieBlog to keep myself active in blogging. I love photo blogs, some of my favorite reads are knitting/life blogs with mosaic photo collages and short descriptions. I definitely won’t be posting every day but I’d like to post a few times a week so that the photos don’t get backlogged too badly. I know that a lot of the folks doing the 365 photo project are using Flickr but I’ve yet to shell out the $24.95 for a pro account b/c of having my own webspace.. even though it would make my organizing of photos on Flickr much easier.
Jumble
Please excuse the random posts which are appearing and disappearing.. I’m trying to organize some photos and trying to figure out the best way to implement a “photo a day” type format here at Chez Mousie.
I’m thinking that the best way to do this is to backlog the first few posts and go from here.. though I’m not sure if the best way to do this is to wait and post a full week of photos at once or post them daily (though it won’t be the actual day that the photo was taken.. maybe a day ‘lag’ in between.
The reason I haven’t been blogging very much is that the cat seems to have taken up permanent residence in my office chair… I honestly don’t have the heart to move her since she looks so cute when she sleeps. The rest of the time she’s a maniacal furball who enjoys knocking over things… like an entire aluminum flower bucket filled with straight knitting needles & spindles which has been weighted down with beach sand. The little snot-rag knocked the thing over at about 10am while we were all blissfully asleep – and knocked it directly into the ONLY basket of clean clothes in the house. Thanks b-tch.
