This just in : General Beauregard Lee (the Southern “official weather groundhog”) and Pennsylvania’s own Punxsutawney Phil (the official.. official groundhog- with a website!) have totally clashed on their forecasts. The South will apparently have an Early Spring while the North is screwed with 6 more weeks of Winter. In between? Fire, brimstone, and locusts of course!
According to Channel 11 news in Atlanta, no official records of the Southern groundhog’s predictions have been kept but his only ‘miss’ was when he called for an early spring right before the infamous “Blizzard of ‘93″. Doh!

Hee hee – I read locusts as “lolcats” the first time.
Looks like you have winter going on here on ye olde blogge…
Sorry to break it to you, but Wiarton Willie and Shubenacadie Sam have both reached the same conclusion as Phil. Don’t break out the roller skates and terrycloth onesie shortsuit yet, my dear.

Wow you have snow on the blog:) We have quite a bit up here in Lancashire
Well…I hate to point this out, but the North and South USUALLY clash. Especially when it comes to weather. We probably started our winter later than they did. I mean, I’d say it didn’t start getting really cold until mid-December. Either way. I’d love some more snow.
I am so ready for Spring.
Gah! I cannot take six more weeks. I just can’t!!!!
Hi Mouse,
I am here today to invite you (I hate the ‘Tag your it’ thing.) to join in a meme.
Rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.
Mention the rules.
Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself.
Tag six other bloggers by linking to them.
Go to each person’s blog and leave a comment to tell them they are tagged.
You have been linked in my blog today. I hope you don’t mind.
Sincerely, Euphoria
The only reason I’ll enjoy six more weeks of winter and cold weather is because I’ll be able to stay comfy cozy in all my knitted socks that I’ve made with hand dyed yarn!
As for the clash of the ground hogs, maybe they ought to meet in a boxing ring of sorts and duke it out – may the strongest hog lay claim to the prediction! Thanks for this post!
