Another high-rise sky

View from high-rise of ATLYou’ll have to excuse the sucktacular quality of the photos.. they were taken with my cellphone from the balcony of a highrise apartment while I was helping my husband with another job downtown. I’ve hit the point where you’re so tired that you become completely stupid and even simple daily tasks take on rocket science-type difficulty levels. My next stop is to fall face first onto the bed and not wake up until its time to get Munchkin off to school in the morning… Currently, muscles I didn’t know I even had.. are hurting. view of piedmont park and Atlanta By the way.. the yarn shop/Kureyon run got botched - the shop was closed for no apparent reason so I was unable to get my yarn. My hands and wrists hurt so badly right now from carrying metal furniture pieces that I couldn’t knit right now if I tried… and I’m far too dopey to do entrelac. *thud*

29 on the 29th

I’m just popping in before my birthday (I am writing this on Saturday night) to say that I totally botched Saturday Sky again.. because I was running around town with the husband and Munchkin.

I’m having a sucktacular birthday weekend at the moment.. we tried to go to Target (for metal stacking cubes for the office/studio), Staples office supply (for a computer cart/desk for the office turned studio..), and to a sub shop for samwiches.. all which turned out completely crappy. Each one of the shops had NOTHING I went in there for AND looked like the Village Idiot Convention had bussed everyone in for a shopping day..  I came home completely frazzled and wanting to crawl in bed and hide. Oh yes.. and then we found out that my birthday present from Munchkin (I’ll take a photo of it on Monday..) was broken! Poor little guy got me a locket and it wouldn’t shut! We’re exchanging it tomorrow for another one.. hopefully.

The one good thing that happened was that we decided to have lunch/early dinner at On the Border Mexican restaurant instead of at the sub shop. I ordered a giant burrito  ( called the Borderito.. its awesome.. I highly recommend it) with chicken.. and they ended up bringing it out with steak in it instead.  It was one of those happy accidents.. because the steak turned out to be absolutely wonderful AND they didn’t charge me for the “upgrade” since they screwed up. I have the other half of it (honestly.. it was huge.. I’m still full) in the fridge for tomorrow- I love restaurant leftovers.

Oh yes..  think positive thoughts for my husband..  he’s quitting smoking this weekend! His last cigarette was Friday night at 4am and he says he’s “never” smoking again. Its been a rough day (to put it mildly) for the whole family.. but he still hasn’t lit up 18 hours later.. and I’m proud of him.  I used to smoke but getting pregnant 5 years ago changed all of that..  husband continued to smoke outside the house and when I wasn’t around. I’ve never “nagged” at him to quit because I know how hard it is to do - but I have always hoped that he would stop smoking while Munchkin is still young.

I’ve spent most of the night playing with polymer clay.. so expect an update to the shop sometime in the next week. As it stands right now I have 3 new fimo designs going into the shop for fall..

oh yeah.. its saturday again..

chicken noodle

I almost managed to forget that it was Saturday.. when you are sick the days seem to run together. Being sick made me crave comfort food something fierce, and we have had homemade soup for the last few days for dinner. I started out with the intention of making some buttered egg noodles for dinner and somehow ended up making chicken vegetable noodle soup! I used a can of chicken, a bag of egg noodles, bag of carrots from the fridge, half a bag of stew veggies left in the freezer, a can of chicken stock, and a can of tomatos.. also some spices, garlic, and onion flakes. Usually my attempts at homemade soups have been less than stellar - but this one was so good that I didn’t mind eating it for 2 days.. I’m pretty sure it was due to the fresh garlic and all of the seasoning I threw in.. but man, was it good.

another saturday sky

I did manage to photograph another Saturday Sky.. this one was taken only about 30 minutes ago as the sun was going down. Hubby left us money for pizza - and we took advantage of the situation and ordered delivery from Pizza Hut for dinner tonight. I was busy chowing down on some mushroom, ham & extra cheese pan pizza with the munchkin while watching Disney Channel and realized that I was going to miss getting a picture for today; so I raced outside and nearly tripped over the cat! She’s been acting rather flakey and territorial since hubby left on Thursday and I’m not looking forward to another week of her being under my feet every two seconds.

Late Saturday Sky

Saturday birthday sky An entire week sort of blew past me at the speed of light - filled mostly of junk that I just can’t talk about right now. The Saturday Sky to the left was taken at a birthday party for a relative of my MIL’s best friend - a great cook out and awesome food.. but a tiring day. Munchkin was sick all last week and ended up being home from school for 2 days with a horrible cough and sore throat that is still hanging around. He’s doing better now and is finally sleeping through the night again without the help of ‘better living through chemicals’. As per usual of course, I now have the chills and a sore throat… yay me. I’m pretty sure my hair hurts right now- that can’t be a good sign. koi fish in an outdoor pond True to form, I’m over-doing it and am completely stressed out.. hence the “Cosmic Smackdown” as a really good friend of mine used to call it. That’s where the universe sort of bitch-slaps you into seeing the reality of your situation because you’re just too wrapped up to see it otherwise. I tend to need less subtle hints.. like the cartoon Acme safe hitting me upside the head and denting me into the pavement below. I finally finished all of the llama, llama, duck sets and have all but mailed them out.. which makes me unbelievably happy to see them all go. I sort of felt held back by them and am enjoying working on some Samhain themed sets for ‘release’ to the shop on Friday. My husband is on his way out of town for his yearly “guys trip” to the mountains/florida on Thurs - which makes my impending bout of the plague right on time. I’m usually deathly sick while he’s away and this is no exception. Now.. if you’ll excuse me.. I have to go figure out whether I’m hot or cold. PS. thanks for all the suggestions as to where to throw the blog when I get a free minute to give the finger to Blogger.. I’m running behind on returning comments but appreciated everyone’s feedback. There are changes brewing around here.. bubble bubble.. * grins wickedly*
