The days tend to sort of blend together here at Chez Mousie and I often realize that a whole week has gone by when I’m being asked for ice cream money “again”. (me: “Ice cream money… didn’t I just give you some?” munchkin: “No, silly Mama- that was last Friday!”) I’m going to have to chalk that up to being one of the many ‘dangers’ of being a stay at home mom…

Last weekend I celebrated with Lady Deathwatch & Little Black Crow for the 2nd annual Internet Thankfulness Tea. I’m thankful for many things this year…. including HEAT!! I’m also thankful that we found such a great house in a nice neighborhood. Everyone is very happy here in the new Chez Mousie.. especially the kitties! My husband has gotten some really good leads on some new business opportunities.. I’m hoping for a prosperous year!

I didn’t end up finishing my Liesl sweater for the Ravelympics.. I didn’t even come close, to be honest. My hand/wrist started hurting and I started making stupid mistakes in the pattern because of feeling rushed with the time limit which made the knitting less than enjoyable. I’m hoping to get it done in time to wear this spring though.. its a bit too cold here in GA for a lacey sweater.

I did however finish spinning some fiber that has been on my wheel since before we moved in November.. its from Spunky Eclectic (“grand opening 2007″ is its name) and is some sort of ‘wool blend’. I don’t have any idea of yardage yet b/c its still hanging out on the bobbin after plying. No plans for this yet other than the fact that its going to be knit up for sale.. the colors aren’t ‘me’.

Has it been THAT long since I’ve posted? DOH! (says Jack…) I’ve been crazy busy here lately and Munchkin goes back to school in 10 days! We’re totally not ready for summer to be over, that’s for sure. I’ve mostly been running around like a lunatic while trying to keep Chez Mousie from going down the proverbial crapper. I’ve been quiet so as to avoid turning this place into a 24/7 bitch-fest and running commentary on the suckitude of the economy, our lack of jobs and money, and blah blah blah… See- no one wants to read that, not even ME!

I have finished a few things since I posted last..

This is Sloochie from Woolly Wormhead knit in my own Two Paws Handspun – one of the few two ply yarns I have left. (Admittedly I stole it from my Etsy shop.. shhh..) I wish I had some modeled shots of this (though there is one of Munchkin in it on my Ravelry page) but its done nothing but pour here in GA. I love the colors and the way the yarn striped — its an incredibly geeky hat but I love it and can’t wait to wear it at the bus stop and to embarrass the living crap out of my mother-in-law this winter.

These are also handspun yarn from roving I recently bought at CosyMakes shop – its a wool type called CVM and it was from a local Ohio farm. The gloves (armwarmers? mitts? I never know what to call these…) are my own half-assed pattern (that I used previously on the Maple Sky mitts ) which I had to rip out twice because clearly I cannot read my own writing. I’d love to keep these (and actually intended to when I spun the yarn) but they turned out a little too big for me and are destined for a new life for sale at Etsy.

And that, my friends… is all the news that’s currently fit to print.
